Most of you whom already know of Simply Soap, know that I, the soapmaker - Carol Ochs ("Oaks"), am easily seduced by the faerie realm, as evidenced by my art websites. A sort of marriage of Simply Soap, my art (Wild Oaks Art), plus a sprinkling of magic and what did I get? Wylde Faerie Soaps! Sorry---the faeries made me do it! Yup, I DO believe in faeries, ...and that by opening ourselves up to the magic & wonder of their realm, we honor nature, re-capture purity of spirit, the child and creative forces within us all! How do you think I dream up the products I make? It's the kid in me leaking out! This collection of soaps was created via fae inspiration and a lifetime spent observing nature, and fascination with faerie and herbal lore! Faeries thrive in the natural world and are most apt to be seen, if you keep your intuitive senses sharp and your eyesight keen! Having actually seen a faerie in my lifetime, I can tell you it's TRUE! But there is danger...danger that the further you move away from the purity of childhood, the less likely you are to find faeries.....unless you fully and willingly relinquish your jadedness, prejudice, suspicion and skepticism that comes with adulthood. For most folks, that is difficult to do..... Wylde Faerie Soaps are each carefully hand-stirred crafted and made with only meticulously chosen botanicals, scents and other sweet ingredients faeries are known to adore & that ages-old word-of-mouth-research has proven faeries are most likely to come out of hiding to smell and be near! Therefore you increase YOUR chances of seeing a real faerie for yourself if you bathe with these aroma-rich soaps in preparation for your faerie-viewing endeavors! It's much like how fishermen bathe with our Here Fishy, Fishy! anise (black licorice) soap before fishing.....the anise scent acts as an attractant for fish and hides human scent. Mind you, we're not encouraging you to try to CAPTURE any faeries...nothing will spook them faster than one whiff of a trap or capture intentions! I can speak from experience that they recognize the purpose of an empty mayonnaise jar and will never appear for you if you have one in-hand!!! Similarly, nets, swatters, cans, jars, boxes and other trapping accouterments are the kiss-of-death to a successful faerie sighting...LEAVE THEM HOME! We cannot make any guarantees that you WILL see a faerie since we cannot control your open-mindedness and spiritual state (key to seeing faeries!), but as proffered below (under the soap listings), we WILL share some of our hints for increasing your odds of a bona fide faerie sighting, or how to know if faeries are near! The magical aromas in these botanical-filled, skin-soothing soaps --flower petals, crushed leaves, ground mosses, ferns and herbs-- WILL assuredly create a faerie-friendly aura about you, placing you in the closest possible spiritual alignment to enter their realm! Nooks, crannies and leafy
patches tangled with fern, moss and magical mushrooms are all natural gathering
spots for faeries and faerie rings! This deliciously green-scented
soap with real maidenhair fern, oakmoss, and dried mushroom powder smells
of fresh forest gatherings so clean and exhilarating you can't stop
smelling yourself! Faeries will surely want a whiff of you, too, and
may just track YOU down if you smell of their favorite enchanted grounds!
Ingredients: Saponified palm kernel, coconut, olive
and castor oils, superfat-enriched with avocado oil, scented with
essential oils & fragrance, dried and ground fern, moss & mushroom,
mineral colorant.
An enchanted cottage,
garden, or glade is easy to identify if clinging with bright orange and
yellow nasturtium flowers & edible vines, smiling giant sunflowers, and
puffs of dandelions all about! Faeries LOVE to dance on the soft
heads of dandelions! A scent of freshly cut and gathered flowers in
this soap filled with ground dandelion leaf, nasturtium petals, and
skin-enriching sunflower oil to brighten your bath!
Ingredients: Saponified palm kernel, coconut, olive and castor oils,
superfat-enriched with sunflower oil, scented with essential oils &
fragrance, dried and ground sunflower, calendula and nasturtium petals,
and dandelion leaf.
Beautiful blue to purple
flowers....lilac has musical qualities and attracts singing faeries who
help to harmonize your life. Faeries are also known to make wine
from the nectar of lilac blossoms, they like it so well. Violet is a sacred flower, revered by
the Faerie Queen herself! Picking the first violets of Spring
assures watchfulness and assistance in your life from the Faerie Realm.
Blue Vervain is also sacred to faeries and using it in your bathwater is
said to induce dreams of, and map guidance to Faerie Land!
I
Fairies are partial to anything
sweet and seductive, and jasmine and orange blossom are a perfect marriage
of tangy intoxicating nectars! The heady aroma in my own backyard of these two
flowers convinced me I simply must blend them into soap for nothing is quite so
seductive to faeries as a full moon night with jasmine and
orange blossom wafting on the air! This luscious soap is sprinkled with real
jasmine and orange blossoms.
Ingredients: Saponified palm kernel, coconut, olive and castor oils,
superfat-enriched with avocado oil, scented with essential oils &
fragrance, dried and ground jasmine & orange blossom petals.
Roses are another most sacred flower
among the fae, inducing love, and helping you attune to the gifts of
telepathy and divination. Lavender is well-known for it's healing
and magical properties believed to be caused by the strong faerie activity
surrounding it where it grows; lavender's gifts of protection from evil
are strong! Faeries are drawn to honeysuckle by it's power to
stimulate dreams and awaken psychic energy. Together these potent
flower petals, scents, and their magical properties make a powerful attractant to faeries!
Use prior to approaching them, ESPECIALLY during "tween times"...dawn, dusk, noon,
midnight, and equinoxes & solstices; times which are not distinct or
definable, they are in-between.
Ingredients: Saponified palm kernel, coconut, olive and castor oils,
superfat-enriched with avocado oil, scented with essential oils &
fragrance, dried rose petals and lavender buds, cosmetic-grade mica
colorant.
Faeries are known for having
quite a sweet tooth! They also have their own secret code for
rituals, celebrations and making new acquaintances. For example...as
much as they love a beautiful and fragrant garden to play in, they find it
wisest not to enter the garden inhabited by humans, unless
invited, awaiting a show of kindness as proof that you mean them no
harm. The surest way to display a warm and open invitation to your
garden fairies and perhaps capture a glimpse, is to set out for them an
offering of sweets, their favorite being milk, honey and anything vanilla!
They prefer tiny cups and saucers spread on a linen cloth, and a
sprig of thyme is sure to show them you are "friend", in-tune with the
ways of the fae. Smelling sweetly of milk, honey and vanilla
yourself surely cannot hurt either and if truly blessed, you may be lucky
enough to have one alight upon you! We highly recommend using
this soap just before gloaming (dusk) when garden dew is gathering, and when the veil betwixt two worlds is
thinnest so your chances of sighting faeries greatest! This scent
blend will
induce the sweetest of dreams for your wee ones as well, as they sail off
to the Land of Nod. Enriched with honey, goatmilk, and ground oats
to soothe itchy-prone skin.
(Naturally
brown in color from the vanilla oil.)
Ingredients: Saponified palm kernel, coconut, olive and castor oils,
superfat-enriched with goatmilk, scented with essential oils &
fragrance, honey, ground & whole oats.
The hawthorn tree is one of three magic trees faeries notoriously group to, (the others are the mighty oak and ash trees) and a grouping of all three trees is sure to attract a major Faerie-Fest! This soap contains hawthorn leaf and flowers, soothing feverfew herb (for red or itchy skin), and daisy petals - one of faeries' FAVORITE flowers! Did you know that if you wear a daisy chain of flowers around your head, it protects you from tricksy faeries? And a bath in daisy flower water is said to supply the same protection, as well as lure non-tricksy fae...they CAN'T resist! UNSCENTED! Just the pure natural scent of soap & herbs.

should not be exposed to fragrance or essential oils prior to 12 months of
age....or those with any scent sensitivities.
