Soap Prices Up:

Sorry..... we had to raise our soap prices to keep up with our increased raw ingredient costs....accountant's orders! I actually was ordered to do it at the end of last year - 2015, and only now was able to spend the time to re-code entire site pricing. I was kind of hoping some of my fluctuating ingredient costs would fluctuate back down again, but instead they've continued to rise. It was suggested that I *could* use less expensive ingredients, but NOPE, not going there. I will not alter my successful recipes or "go inferior" with cheap ingredients just to cut costs. I'm certain both my products and good name would suffer!

Anyway, it has become a case of raise my pricing, or consider whether to still do this as a business or not. Every business person faces pricing issues, and if they don't face it honestly, they likely will not continue to be in business....as evidenced by how many soapmakers are here today, gone tomorrow! I've been doing this since 1994 (22 years!). I love this work and hope to continue, but must be realistic about costs.

Many soapmakers function-as and sell more as part-time hobbyists and do not price their soap to reflect the real costs of running a full-fledged & dedicated business. So while there will always be plenty of $4.00/bar soapmakers out there, truth is, you usually get what you pay for.

Please be assured I will always remain committed to quality first and foremost! And I make every effort to buy my quality ingredients in as large of bulk quantities as I can, participating in group coop buys, etc., to keep overall end costs down whenever possible. I also continue to offer a range of *options* (half bars, UN-labeled bars, & bulk soap to cut-yourself) to faciliate cost-savings for you, ..including our Bargain Soaps!

I appreciate every customer who values what I hand-create and the time, methods & costs associated. It's YOU who allows my business to continue & thrive, and I'm always grateful!

THANK YOU! ~Carol

(P.S. I had a LOT of price re-coding to do and am not the most genius-techie, so if you happen upon a coding glitch or "syntax error" when adding an item to your shopping cart, I apologize for any inconvenience, and please feel free to alert me at: simplysoap@aol.com so I can correct it ASAP! Thanks!)
